Old Bathroom Renovation Ideas

GILDED CHANDELIER

A sculpture by Louise Bourgeois overlooks a bath in French architect Jacques Grange's Paris apartment. The chandelier is 19th-century; the tub, sink, and faucet are by L'Epi d'Or and the marble floor is based on a Byzantine design.

19TH-CENTURY LANTERN

In the master bath at this Paris pied-à-terre, the circa-1760 rosewood-and-bronze writing desk and 18th-century gilded wood stool are all French, the pendant lighting is created of a 19th-century lantern, the shower doors are steel and the walls are sheathed in striped plaster, glass shower enclosures here.

SIMPLE SCONCES

Simple lighting provides striking contrast to this busy Finnish wallpaper in the 1950s adorning the walls of this Manhattan flat powder room, decorated by Katie Ridder. Hanging above a Waterworks sink, a classic FontanaArte mirror echoes the wall colour.

VENDOME SCONCES

This guest bathroom features Vendome sconces by Thomas O'Brien for Visual Comfort, a salvaged 1920s bathtub and pedestal sink, and a Burmese teak mirror in this Bellport, New York home.
